It’s been so long since this team last experienced top flight football. After their relegation to the Premier League four years ago, Sarawak have struggled to re-create a team capable of mounting back a revival.

However, the arrival of Roberts Alberts last season prompted a change in fortunes as Sarawak battled their way to secure back promotion into the Super League.

With the new season edging closer, they have completed several interesting transfers with the likes of Ravindran Krishnan and Saiful Amar joining in from established Super League sides.

The former is a well-known name, having featured for Harimau Muda A in the top flight last season, while the latter was a key figure in between the sticks for Selangor last campaign.

Several inexperienced names like Ronald Dennis and Shahrol Abdul Malek have been drafted as well but based on their pre-season matches; it seems that the squad is gelling impeccably.

Guy Bwele and Kalle Sone were also snapped up after impressing Robert Alberts during their trials. Sone comes with a heartening record, having lined up for CV Otopeni in the Romanian league prior to this, while Bwele is well-known for his versatility in defence and midfield and will add the much-needed stability into Sarawak’s defensive set-up.

On an overall note, it could be an interesting season for Sarawak because they are a side burning with desire to stamp their authority on the Super League. Nonetheless, it will be a long and demanding season for Sarawak and the ‘survival of the fittest’ theory will come into reckoning as far as the Crocs are concerned.
