Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has warned French star Franck Ribery that he might not be considered a first team player at the Bernabeu if he were to join Real Madrid this summer and that he should renew his contract with the Bavarian outfit.

"I would like Franck to stay with us next season,” Van Gaal told Der Blickpunkt.
“He knows that in Madrid stars do not always play and can be substitutes, like [Rafael] Van der Vaart, [Ruud] Van Nistelrooy or Raul.”

Ribery has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid for well over a year now and it has been reported that the Frenchman is eager to leave Bayern and try his luck in Spain.

Bayern are desperate for their star to sign a new deal and Ribery’s team-mate Ivica Olic recently claimed that the club have given him a final ultimatum.
