According to Franck Ribery’s agent, the long running transfer saga surrounding Bayern Munich’s talismanic French winger will be resolved in the near future, hinting that a deal with the Bundesliga club is very possible.

Clubs such as Real Madrid and Manchester City have been linked with the former Olympique de Marseille player in recent times, though it seems the Boulogne-schooled attacker could resolve to remain at the Allianz Arena.

“The decision depends on what Bayern mean to do regarding building a team that will hold their position in Europe,” agent Alain Migliaccio said, according to Bild. “We must remember that Franck is under contract with Bayern until 2011, and as such Bayern holds the power in the negotiations. Until we have met [directors Karl-Heinz] Rummenigge, [Uli] Hoeness and [Christian] Nerlinger, nothing will happen.”

Rumours spread last week that Ribery, who has endured an injury-interrupted season, had been handed an ultimatum by the Bundesliga club that was designed to coax the Frenchman into committing his future to the German outfit. Migliaccio has denied such talk but has confirmed that a definitive answer over his client’s future will be available in “early March”.

Back in December, the agency said that “Ribery will not renew at Bayern”, but a gradual u-turn has been made since then.
