Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar: I do not regret spells with Real Madrid & AC Milan
The Netherlands international has looked back at his time in La Liga and Serie A with a positive outlook of the experience and is enjoying playing in Germany

Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has stressed that he does not regret his decision to leave Ajax for Real Madrid in January 2009 or joining AC Milan six months later.
The Netherlands international failed to secure regular first-team action at either the Santiago Bernabeu or San Siro, and eventually moved to Gelsenkirchen in the summer of 2010.
"You always know better with the benefit of hindsight, but you still don't know what the alternatives would have been," the 28-year-old marksman was quoted as saying on the official Fifa website.
"Real Madrid are a fantastic club. I really liked their attacking play, and I felt the club played very good football. I appreciated that.
"Italian football is a bit different, but it has its good points too. As people sometimes say, every rose has thorns," he commented.
Huntelaar then reflected on his move to Schalke, and is adamant that his transfer to the Bundesliga side was not a step in the wrong direction for his career.
"There's no way joining Schalke was a step backwards.
"The club is always there or thereabouts at the top in Germany and after my spell with AC Milan, the transfer was a step in the right direction, especially because I was picked to play in my favoured position of centre-forward at long last," he revealed.
Huntelaar has been in stunning form in the 2011-12 campaign, and has already netted 27 goals in 29 official appearances.
