Nigeria Premier League defending champions Dolphins have faulted the decisions of the Organising and Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation on the match-fixing scandal that rocked the league last season.

Two of the decisions are that coach Stanley Eguma will stay out of football for five years, while the Port Harcourt team have been fined 10million naira (€47,246).

Emenike Acheru, media manager of Dolphins said that the decisions did not paint the picture of what transpired between Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars.

"We are shocked as a team by the decisions taken because it portrayed Dolphins as a side that tried to fix a game last season,” Acheru told Goal.com.

"How did the committee get to ban Stanley Eguma for five years when Dolphins was not involved in the match between Lobi and Sunshine?

"Why will the committee fine Dolphins N10m? Just because the referee, Chrisantus Okoro alleged that he got a call from Eguma, then he should be banned for five years?

"We are determined to appeal and fight to clear the name of Eguma and Dolphins in this whole mess.

"Dolphins maintain that there is nothing to show that we tried to influence the game between Lobi Stars and Sunshine Stars which ended 1-1 in Bauchi last season."
