Shooting Stars’s Yomi Adigun tips his side for Nigeria Premier League success
The 3SC captain says that they will shock their detractors by making a big impact on this season’s log table
By Emeka Nwani
Yomi Adigun, the captain of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan has said that his team is destined for success this season, despite that fact that they currently sit on the 10th spot on the table.
Adigun noted that many people have almost written the Ibadan side off, but he says they will be shocked when they see the team on top of the table at the end of the campaign.
"This is not an empty boast. I have watched carefully the type of the players we have signed on and I believe that they have the capabilities to win the trophy this term. In the past two seasons we have always struggled to escape relegation, but that is a thing of the past now,” Adigoun told Goal.com.
"Our position on the league table may not be good, but instead of fighting relegation, we are going to make sure we put smiles on the faces of our supporters.
"This season, money will not be a problem because the management and the government of Oyo have worked out a formula that will make us get paid as and when due. And since we are going to get our allowances regularly, nothing will stop us from battling to win the trophy," Adigun concluded.
Shooting Stars host Sunshine Stars in this weekend’s match at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan.
