The Ghana Premier League (GPL) is in recess due to the upcoming 2012 Africa Cup of Nations taking place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

A statement from the Ghana FA revealed that the domestic top flight of the west African country resumes on February 19, a few days after the conclusion of the 28th edition of the continental showpiece.

Sixteen clubs have been involved in 240 games that commenced on October 9, 2011 and ended on January 15, 2012 to wrap up a busy first round.

A total of 236 goals were scored in 240 games with Kumasi-based giants Asante Kotoko leading the log on 31 points.
