Ghana FA defers decision on coach Goran Stevanovic’s future again

The former Partizan coach can now breathe a sigh of relief at least for a week as the FA defers decision on his future for another week
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has deferred once more the final decision on the future of Black Stars coach, Goran Stevanovic, until next week.Reports were rife in the local media that the Serbian will receive the marching orders ahead of a crunch meeting of the GFA executive committee members on Thursday morning.
However, the football governing body of the west African country issued a statement on its official website on Thursday afternoon announcing, “the GFA will meet with Stevanovic next week and the final decision will be announced subsequently.”
Stevanovic led the Black Stars to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Local fans, who have been dying for a continental trophy for the past 30 years, heavily criticised the Serbian for what they termed a poor performance after having promised Ghanaians he will bring the title home.
Plavi has one more year left in his contract and it is being reported that Ghana will have to part with about €670,000 in compensation to the former Partizan coach.
