Orlando Pirates coach Palacios: Bidvest Wits were too defensive
The caretaker coach of the Buccaneers has revealed the reasons for his team's inability to score against the Clever Boys
Augusto Palacios says Bidvest Wits were too defensive and were hoping to catch Orlando Pirates on the counter attack, which made it difficult for his team to break through.Prior to this match the Clever Boys had only collected two points from a possible 18, however, they competed well against the defending champions throughout the game.
It also took some good goalkeeping from Energy Murambadoro and good defending from Brad Phillips to keep the Buccaneers at bay.
It was Bucs second match in succession that ended in a goalless draw, after they drew with Moroka Swallows during the week.
"We did not play well at all in the first half, but also Wits did not make things any easier for us, as they were too defensive and they wanted to catch us on the counter attack. But we will keep working hard and will take one match at a time," Palacios said to reporters.
