Borussia Dortmund's Paraguay star Lucas Barrios admitted that he has mixed feelings about playing Chile in Tuesday's World Cup qualifying fixture, as he prepares to return to the country which propelled him to stardom.

The Argentina-born striker played a total of six years in the Andean nation with three different clubs, but it was his spell with Santiago giants Colo Colo which helped him become recognised as an international-class player. Barrios smashed 53 goals in just 56 games for the Cacique, before moving to Germany in July 2009.

Speaking on Monday evening the 27-year-old affirmed that he had a great deal of affection for Chilean football, but that he was 100 per cent committed to starring for Paraguay.

"The love that I have for Chile is enormous, because playing there opened doors for me in my career. In that moment [if he scores] we will see what is going through my head. Even if I score or we win, my feelings are not going to change," Barrios commented to Triunfo.

"What I experienced in Colo Colo was amazing. I have a special affection for the club and it is where I want to retire."

Barrios will be reunited with former Colo Colo coach Claudio Borghi in Santiago's Estadio Nacional, as the Roja attempt to put Friday's 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Uruguay behind them with victory over the Guarani.
