Cristiano Ronaldo, Gary Neville, Morgan De Sanctis & the Top 10 footballing snitches
After the Napoli goalkeeper's antics got Zlatan Ibrahimovic sent off at the weekend, we look at some of football's other infamous snitches
By Carlo Garganese & Adam Scime
AC Milan superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic made all the headlines in Italy at the weekend after he was sent off during the 0-0 home draw with Napoli for slapping Salvatore Aronica - an offence that has since earned him a three-game ban, meaning he is due to miss the big Scudetto showdown with Juventus at the end of the month.
But the Swedish striker would have likely escaped without even a booking had it not been for the histrionics of Azzurri goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis. The former Udinese shot-stopper sprinted from his penalty area to the touchline to tell the assistant referee what had happened, and this information was relayed to referee Nicola Rizzoli who subsequently red-carded Ibrahimovic.
De Sanctis is not the first footballer who has been accused of grassing up a fellow professional. Goal.com runs down 10 players who have garnered a similar reputation to the Partenopei glovesman.
