| Full-back Oscar de Marcos displayed a confident performance and was reliable at the back in Athletic Bilbao’s 2-1 victory over Real Zaragoza. He also provided the pass for Gaizka Toquero’s late winner. Sergio was a vital presence in defence for Osasuna in their 2-1 comeback victory over Villarreal at home, defending strongly and netting the winner on 83 minutes. Real Sociedad played most of the second half against Racing Santander with 10 men after Inigo Martínez was sent off, but Vadim Demidov stood his ground at centre-back and steered his side to a goalless draw. Jordi Alba was all over Malaga down his left flank for Valencia and played an indispensable role in his side’s 2-0 home win. |

While Di Maria provided the assists for two of the goals and added one himself, Ronaldo grabbed a hat-trick. Until this weekend Getafe had never won at Real Mallorca, but Abdel Barrada’s double saw the Madrid side register a 2-1 victory. Ever Banega was instrumental in central midfield for Valencia as everything went through him. The Argentina international’s extensive passing range for was on show at the Mestalla. |

| Roberto Soldado once again turned on the style for Valencia as he scored both goals against Malaga, one in each half. The Spanish striker has now taken his tally to 11 goals in La Liga. Gaizka Toquero scored the winner for Athletic against Zaragoza at San Mames on 87 minutes and was an important presence throughout for his side. |
