Bernd LENO

Leverkusen were forced to cope with a defeat to Dortmund on Saturday, but Bernd Leno kept the visitors in the match until the very end. He twice denied Kevin Grosskreutz in one-on-one situations, and was easily his team's best player.
DEFENDERS

Jannik VESTERGAARD

Khalid BOULAHROUZ
Stuttgart

Lukasz Piszczek was one of the two Dortmund players who made a good impression in Saturday's 1-0 win over Leverkusen. The right-back was an ever-present force in attack and defence: going forward he did very well to create openings and at the back, there was no way past him.

Hoffenheim youngster Jannik Vestergaard debuts amid an extended run of fine form. The Dane scored his team's only goal of the match in a 1-1 draw with Bremen, but his defensive work alone would have merited a place in this week's best XI. At 19, he looks to be a real star in the making.

Rounding off the defensive line is Khalid Boulahrouz, who as of late has struck a rich vein of form. The right-back was a key support figure for winger Martin Harnik, who bagged a hat-trick on the day. Boulahrouz recorded two assists, as Stuttgart were 5-0 winners against Hertha Berlin.
MIDFIELDERS

Petr JIRACEK
Wolfsburg

New Wolfsburg signing Petr Jiracek features in the Team of the Week for the second time since moving to Germany. This time, the Czech midfielder receives top honours for firing a pair of goals home for Felix Magath's side as they edged Freiburg 3-2 on Friday.

Martin HARNIK

Juan ARANGO

The man of the matchday was Martin Harnik, who fully justified his return to the Stuttgart starting line-up. The Austrian attacker netted a hat-trick against Hertha Berlin, and was simply unmarkable. His second goal was a sight to behold.

Shinji Kagawa also returns for making the difference in what was a huge game for Dortmund: a test against an always-dangerous Leverkusen side. With most of his team-mates struggling for form, the Japanese attacker took matters into his own hands and scored a peach of a goal, which made the difference on the day.

Later on Saturday, Juan Arango was man of the match for Monchengladbach as he scored a brilliant goal from a free kick and also set up another strike as die Fohlen cruised to a 3-0 win over Schalke.
FORWARDS

Marco REUS

Mike HANKE

Mohamed ZIDAN
Mainz

Attacking duo Marco Reus and Mike Hanke return for Monchengladbach following their side's victory against Schalke. It was an enormous win for die Fohlen, and both players not only scored, but played some very good football throughout the game. The pair, along with Arango, always had Schalke on their heels.

The third attacker in this week's team is Mohamed Zidan, who appears a new man since his return to Mainz. The Egyptian striker was unlucky to score just once in his team's 1-1 draw with Hannover. He appears to be just the man to help FSV avoid relegation.
