| Benjamin Lecomte had an outstanding game in Lorient's 1-1 draw against Auxerre. The young goalkeeper, in only his fifth league game, was whisked into action following Fabien Audard's red card midway through the first half, with les Merlus a goal down. Lecomte belied his age with save after save as Christian Gourcuff's side were ultimately rewarded with an injury time equaliser. |

Henri Bedimo continues to boost his reputation as one of Ligue 1's best left-backs with another assured outing in Montpellier's 3-0 win over Ajaccio, again proving to be a potent force on the left wing. Joining him for the very first time is team-mate Benjamin Stambouli, who also put in an impressive shift as la Paillade topped the table provisionally on Saturday evening. Auxerre's Willy Boly makes the grade for the first time, as does Caen's Jerry Vandam, both of whom starred at the weekend. Boly scored for Auxerre whilst also carrying out his defensive duties on a frustrating afternoon for Laurent Fournier's side. Vandam enjoyed a memorable game as he contributed to Caen's shock 2-1 win over Lyon whilst also notably thwarting various les Gones' attackers |

| Ludovic Obraniak returned to Stadium Lille Metropole to a hero's welcome, but ultimately left as the pantomime villain as he struck deep into injury time to seal a memorable victory for new club Bordeaux in a scintillating 5-4 victory. The Polish midfielder, who scored in last season's cup final and also the goal that clinched the league, was a force throughout. Joining him in midfield is team-mate Nicolas Maurice-Belay, who also was the stand-out performer. The les Girondins' winger chipped in with two goals as les Dogues' title challenge fell apart. Remy Cabella of Montpellier rounds off the midfield after he impressed in Montpellier's dismantling of Ajaccio. Cabella scored one and had a hand in another as Rene Girard's men continued to keep the heat on PSG. |

| Valenciennes' Mamadou Samassa makes the grade for the first time as he notched a last-gasp winner to prolong Valenciennes' good run of late under Daniel Sanchez. Olivier Giroud of Montpellier continues to impress after he scored his 16th league goal of the season to keep his side at the top. Giroud calmly converted past Guillermo Ochoa to prolong their title charge. Rounding off the week is Caen's Romain Hamouma, a main protagonist in les Malherbes' 2-1 win over Lyon. Hamouma scored one, whilst proving to be a handful for les Gones as Franck Dumas' men won for the first time ever at Stade Gerland.
