After a year of exciting matches throughout the world, the last international competition of the calendar begins on Thursday night as the 2011 Fifa Club World Cup kicks off in Japan's Toyota Stadium outside of Nagoya.

European champions Barcelona top the list of seven teams appearing in the tournament, which includes five that will be participating for the first time.
