World Cup 2010: Twente Attacker Bernard Parker Fears For Spot In South Africa Squad

The highly rated attacker is afraid he might miss out on a spot in Bafana Bafana's World Cup squad...

Bernard Parker and Katlego Mphela celebrate a South Africa goal during their match against Spain
Highly rated attacker Bernard Parker left South African side Thanda Royal Zulu for a European adventure at Dutch outfit Twente last summer, but the 23-year-old has yet to make an impact at the Tukkers.

Parker has mainly been warming the bench at the Eredivisie table toppers so far and the attacker is slowly starting to get worried about his lack of regular first team action.

"It's hard for me to warm the bench week after week. However, we have been in excellent form so far, so the coach has absolutely no reason to make any changes," said Parker to De Telegraaf.

"All I can do is to continue doing my utmost on the training pitch. I'm not the type of person who give up just like that.

"However, I'm afraid that I won't make it into the South Africa squad for the World Cup if I don't play more. I was just a benchwarmer in our previous two games against Japan and Jamaica."
