World Cup 2010: Milan Defender Thiago Silva Desperate To Travel To World Cup With Brazil
The Brazilian hopes to keep up his fine form to make the trip to South Africa.
By Vince Masiello
“I always think about the World Cup,” the 25-year-old told Globoesporte.
“But now I’m just focused on Milan. Of course, I’ll be able to participate in the tournament in South Africa only if I keep doing as well as I have up until now.”
But his compatriot Ronaldinho looks likely to miss out on the showpiece event after being again overlooked by Selecao manager Carlos Dunga for today’s clash despite his recent outstanding displays for Milan.
“‘Dinho’ is an amazing player and there are no words to describe him,” enthused Thiago Silva.
“And he will give us a great hand to mount a Scudetto bid…”
Milan sit four points adrift of city rivals Inter in Serie A with 12 games left to play.
