1964: Ernesto Valverde: In his playing career Valverde played as a forward at Espanyol, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Mallorca with his greatest success being a Cup Winners Cup title with Barca in 1989. He won won cap for Spain and after retiring immediately turned his hand to coaching at Athletic Bilbao. He later coach Espanyol and won a Greek league title in his only season with Olympiacos before joining Villarreal last summer. He was sacked earlier this month after an unsuccessful spell in charge of the Yellow Submarine.
1983: Mikel Arruabarrena: Centre forward Arruabarrena came through the ranks at Athletic Bilbao but after failing to make the breakthrough to the first team switched to Osasuna and later Xerez. After a brief stint in Polish football he returned to Spain where he now plays in Segunda Division B for SD Eibar.
