Cesare Prandelli admits including Roma's Francesco Totti in Italy's Euro 2012 squad is an option
The Azzurri coach says that every player in good physical shape is a potential candidate to make the squad for the tournament, regardless of their age
By Luis Mira
The Roma captain brought an end to his international career in July 2006, shortly after helping his country win the World Cup in Germany.
"At the end of the season, we will assess the players' physical condition," Prandelli told Tg1 when asked about Totti.
"We started the season with a project: if there were players with great personality and in good shape, they would be taken into consideration."
Totti has made 14 competitive appearances for Roma this season, netting four goals for Luis Enrique's side, who lie in sixth position in the Serie A standings.
Former Italy coach Roberto Donadoni attempted to lure Totti out of retirement for Euro 2008 but was unsuccessful.
The Azzurri have been paired with Croatia, Republic of Ireland and Spain in the showpiece event in Poland and Ukraine.
