VIDEO: Internacional 1-0 Once Caldas highlights

The Brazilians took a narrow lead away from their Copa Libertadores preliminary match, but their opponents will still feel they have a chance of the upset

A single strike from Leandro Damiao was enough to lead Internacional to a narrow victory over Colombian side Once Caldas on Wednesday, although the Porto Alegre outfit will still have a job to do when they visit Manizales for the return leg.

In an even match where the visitors showed no fear in coming forward and taking the game to the 2010 winners, it was the highly-rated Damiao who proved the difference.

The Brazil international hit home after 13 minutes following a superb assist from Andres D'Alessandro for what proved to be the only goal of the evening.

Following a tepid first half Caldas looked to level the scoreline after the break, but they could not find a way past goalkeeper Muriel. They will have to win in front of their own fans to stand a chance of staying in the Copa Libertadores, and entering 2012's group stage after making the quarter-finals last year.
