Willem II Defender Leonardo Veloso On Trial At CFR Cluj
The Brazilian full-back could be on his way out of Tilburg...
By Stefan Coerts
Brazilian defender Leonardo Veloso appears to be on his way out of Eredivisie outfit Willem II as the Tilburg side have allowed the full-back to go on trial at Romanian side CFR Cluj, according to a report in De Telegraaf.
Cluj impressed in last year's Champions League campaign, but the Romanians have failed to reproduce their best form ever since and are therefore looking to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window.
The 22-year-old Veloso joined Willem II from Atletico Mineiro in January 2008, but the defender has failed to make an impact at the Tricolores. He has made 41 league appearances for Willem II so far.
Veloso appeared to be on his way to Dinamo Bucharest last month after he agreed personal terms with the club. However, Dinamo refused to meet Willem II's demands and the transfer eventually fell through.
The report claims that Cluj will make a decision about whether they want to sign Veloso by the end of this week.
