According to MilanNews.it, the CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) are closely monitoring the progress of Milan coach Leonardo and the 40-year-old is their first choice to lead Brazil on home soil in the 2014 World Cup finals.

Leonardo is in his rookie season as manager after taking his coaching badges last summer and has earned widespread plaudits in Italy of late after getting the Rossoneri’s Serie A title bid back on track.

Leonardo has made it clear he has no plans to leave the Italian giants any time soon, but the CBF are reportedly ready to sign him up on a job-share role with Milan.

Current Brazil head coach Carlos Dunga has already announced he will step down after this summer’s World Cup finals in South Africa, even if he leads the Selecao to victory.
