Brazil head coach Mano Menezes has released his squad list for the friendly match against Bosnia & Herzegovina on February 28, with several surprise selections.

Serie A quarter Maicon, Lucio, Robinho and Alexandre Pato have all been overlooked for selection alongside Real Madrid's Kaka and Manchester United's Rafael and Fabio.

Benfica centre back Luisao is recalled to the squad as Chelsea's David Luiz keeps his spot in the team.

They will be joined in defence by Vasco da Gama's exciting 23-year-old centre back Dede who could make his first appearance for the Canarinha since the Superclasico de las Americas last year.

Given the list of absentees, the selection of both Elias of Sporting Lisbon and Flamengo's Ronaldinho is somewhat surprising.

The latter has struggled for fitness and form during his time at Flamengo but Menezes clearly feels he has something to offer, recalling him at the first available point since last October's friendly with Mexico.

Valencia's Jonas has held onto his place in the squad having impressed in Brazil's last two friendly fixtures against Gabon and Egypt.
