Enzo Perez on verge of Estudiantes return - report
The player is not in Benfica's plans for the second half of the season, and could complete a loan switch to La Plata as soon as Wednesday
The midfielder, who signed for the Portuguese outfit in July 2011 but struggled to make an impression in the Liga Sagres, has been linked with a move back to La Plata since the transfer window reopened in January.
A previous effort by Estudiantes to secure a short-term deal collapsed due to the reluctance of Benfica to release the player.
Perez's exclusion from the team's Champions League squad rejuvenated the possibility of a move, however, and despite interest from San Lorenzo the Pincha are strong favourites to complete a loan switch.
According to Ole, Enzo will arrive back in Argentina on Wednesday to deal with family issues, and Estudiantes will attempt to use the return as an opportunity to confirm the transfer.
Neither Benfica nor the Argentines have released official information on the deal, but a six-month loan move appears the most likely outcome.
