The agent of Universidad de Chile starlet Eduardo Vargas has affirmed that the striker is being followed by a host of European clubs, although he would prefer a move to Italy.
The 21-year-old has been in electric form for his club throughout 2011 and has been rewarded with a regular place in Claudio Borghi's Chilean national team in recent months. His exploits have not gone unnoticed in Europe either, as various sides across the Atlantic have been linked with a lucrative transfer.
Speaking exclusively to Goal.com, the player's representative Diego Cativa could not speak highly enough of Vargas, as he gave some insight into who was chasing the star.
"The kid is currently the best player in South America. He is playing well, he is a serious professional who is avoiding all distractions and focusing 100 per cent on his football. He will cost a lot though, Universidad de Chile value him at €10 million," Cativa explained on Thursday afternoon.
"He is a target for Fenerbahce, who went to see him just two weeks ago as well as Trabzonspor, who had offered €6m for 70 per cent of his playing rights. Colo Colo want him but for me the time is right for him to leave, he has given all he can."
The agent finished by referring to the interest from Milan, who have been mentioned as suitors consistently since August.
"Serie A is his dream. Milan are interested, but a concrete proposal has not yet been made. On Inter's part, there is nothing to say. With Milan though, we can definitely run with it," he affirmed.
Vargas is likely to start from the bench in Friday's World Cup qualifier, as Chile visit Uruguay in Montevideo.
