Real Madrid youngster Carvajal to join Leverkusen
Los Blancos had been expected to hold on to the talented right-back, but the Castilla star is expected to seal a switch to Germany on Monday
Real Madrid youngster Dani Carvajal is on the verge of joining Bayer Leverkusen, Goal.com understands. It had been expected that the 20-year-old defender, who lines out for Real Madrid Castilla, would be integrated into the senior squad this season to provide additional cover for first-choice right-back Alvaro Arbeloa.
However, Carvajal is now set to move to the BayArena for a fee of around €5 million with the deal expected to be finalised on Monday. It is not yet known, though, whether Madrid will insert a buy-back clause into the transfer.
Carvajal has long been tipped for great things, with Blancos legend Michel Salgado recently claiming that the youngster could make the right-back berth his own in the coming seasons.
