Ukraine Star Andriy Shevchenko Accepts Role As Euro 2012 Ambassador

Ukrainian international Andriy Shevchenko is one of the four people who have accepted the invitation to represent his country as a tournament ambassador for the 2012 European Championships in Poland and Ukraine.
Aside from Shevchenko, Oleg Blokhin was also named as Ukrainian ambassador for Euro 2012, while Zbigniew Boniek and Andrzej Szarmach have gladly accepted invitations to act as Polish ambassadors.
Shevchenko is widely considered as one of the best Ukrainian footballers in history, and recently returned to Dynamo Kiev after spells at Milan and Chelsea. The attacker is fast approaching his 100th cap for the country.
Blokhin was elected European footballer of the year in 1975 and represented USSR at two World Cups.
Boniek helped Poland to third spot at the 1982 World Cup and wore the shirts of Widzew Lodz, Juventus and Roma during his impressive career. He also acted as Poland's national team coach for several years.
Szarmach might be less famous with most people, but the attacker scored 32 times in 61 outings for the national side. He was one of the stars at the 1974 World Cup and the 1976 Olympic games.
