Aussies In Europe: Back-To-Back Everton Strikes For Cahill

The Toffees star scored twice in as many matches and was the standout Aussie star on the continent.

A full game for Neill in the 2-1 away win over Denizlispor that keeps Galatasaray just a point off league leaders Fenerbahce. Kewell remains sidelined with a groin injury.

Two goals in as many games for Cahill, who scored and set up the other goal in a 2-0 midweek home win over Sunderland before netting a superb headed winner in he 84th minute of his side’s away clash with Wigan Athletic at the weekend.

Mark Schwarzer, (Fulham, England)


Consecutive defeats for Schwarzer who played full games in 2-0 defeats, first at the hands of Tottenham at White Hart Lane in midweek before his side lost to visiting Aston Villa at the weekend.

Brett Emerton, Vince Grella (Blackburn Rovers, England)


A full game for Emerton in the midweek 2-1 home win over Wigan before he was substituted in the 58th minute of the scoreless draw away against West Ham. Grella remains sidelined through injury.

Mark Bresciano (Palermo, Italy)

Wasn’t in the squad for the 4-2 win at Bari.

Luke Wilkshire (Dinamo Moscow, Russia)


End of Russian season.

Scott McDonald (Middlesbrough, England)


Made a late move to the Championship during the January transfer window from Celtic.

Richard Garcia (Hull City, England)


Introduced in the 80th minute of his side’s 2-2 home draw with Wolverhampton.

Brett Holman, James Holland (AZ Alkmaar, Netherlands)


Neither were in the squad for the 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Groningen.

Wasn’t in the squad for home win over Roda JC at the weekend, nor the midweek away win over Sparta Rotterdam in the cup.

Dario Vidosic (Nurnberg, Germany)


Came off the bench at half time as his side crashed to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of St Pauli.

Carl Valeri (Sassuolo, Italy)


Introduced in the 84th minute of the 3-2 home win over Salernitana.

Brad Jones, Rhys Williams (Middlesbrough, England)


Neither were in the squads for the midweek win at Doncaster and the home draw with Bristol City at the weekend, Williams injured and Jones out of favour.

Nick Carle (Crystal Palace, England)


Carle played 82 minutes of the 2-0 defeat away against Newcastle United before backing up with a full game as his relegation-threatened side beat Peterborough 2-0 at home. Replaced in the 83rd minute of his side's 3-1 win over Wolverhampton in the FA Cup today.

Adam Federici (Reading, England)


Full games as Reading lost 3-0 on the road to Sheffield United during the week before beating Barnsley 1-0 at home.

Patrick Kisnorbo, Neil Kilkenny, Shane Lowry (Leeds United, England)


There was a full game for Kisnorbo as Leeds slumped to a 3-0 defeat away against Swindon Town in midweek before they bounced back with a 2-0 home win over Colchester United, a game in which neither were in the squad. Shane Lowry made his debut for the club in that game, replaced after 71 minutes following his January move from parent club Aston Villa.

Michael Theoklitos (Norwich City, England)


Wasn’t in the squad for the wins over Walsall and Hartlepool.

Dean Bouzanis (Accrington Stanley, England)

Consecutive full games as his side beat Aldershot Town 2-1 at home before winning 1-0 on the road against Shrewsbury Town.

Oliver Bozanic (Aldershot Town, England)


Now on-loan at Aldershot, playing a full game as they beat Bournemouth 2-1 at home.

Bruce Djite (Diyarbakirspor, Turkey)


Played a full game in the 2-1 home defeat to Trabzonspor.

Played a full game in the 1-0 defeat against visiting Besiktas.

Played a full game in last week’s 0-0 draw at home to Olympiakos Volou; awaiting confirmation of involvement in the scoreless draw against Ionikos at the weekend.

Trent McClenahan, James Wesolowski (Hamilton, Scotland)

McClenahan was introduced as a 61st minute substitute into the 0-0 draw at home against Kilmarnock during the week before starting and being replaced in the 51st minute of the 1-0 defeat at the hands of visiting Celtic at the weekend. Wesolowski wasn’t in the squad for either match.

Dean Heffernan (Huddersfield Town, England)


Made his debut after moving from the Central Coast Mariners, playing a full game in the 1-0 away win over Yeovil Town.
