Ghana assistant coach Kwesi Appiah: We didn’t deserve to lose against Zambia

Ghana assistant coach Kwesi Appiah is surprised that the Black Stars lost their semi-final clash against Zambia on Wednesday at the ongoing 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
He said that although anything can happen in football, the west Africans were on top of their game and should have secured a final berth.
The four-time African champions – pre-tournament favourites – lost 1-0 to the Chipolopolo to end their hopes of annexing the continental trophy for the fifth time after three decades in the wilderness.
Appiah believes the players will have to be worked on psychologically to prepare their minds ahead of the third and fourth play-off on Saturday.
“We dominated most of the game but it is unfortunate that out of one of their two chances, they had a goal against us," Appiah said at a post-game press conference at the Estadio de Bata.
“I don’t personally think anything went wrong. It is just one of those things in the game.”
He added, “At the moment, everyone is down. I don’t think we deserved to go out of this competition but that’s the nature of the game.”
“We would do a lot of talking and psyching up to bring their morals up. It’s not easy but we will do our best.”
