Former Zambia striker Kalusha Bwalya has complimented his national team's attacking stars Christopher Katongo, Rainford Kalaba and Emmanuel Mayuka ahead of their appearance in Sunday’s 2012 Africa Nations Cup final.

The Chipolopolo won two group stage matches against Senegal and Equatorial Guinea, while drawing against Libya to top Group A and go on to the quarter-finals, where they thrashed Sudan 3-0 before a narrow 1-0 victory over the highly regarded Black Stars of Ghana to reach the competition final.

Bwalya told SuperSport that in his opinion the trio were to a great extent responsible for the team's magnificent run in the tournament.

"Christopher Katongo is doing a fantastic job; Rainford is there too, Mayuka is getting the goals and we have two players on three goals each," Kalusha said.

"And we also have (defender) Stopilla Sunzu coming from behind to score a header."

The current Zambia FA president said it was wonderful to see the national team doing so well and contesting in the final in Libreville.

"I told the boys; you guys can score goals and enjoy the adventure and see what we can get. It is a proud moment for me," Kalusha added.

Both Katongo and Mayuka have a shot at claiming the Africa Cup golden boot award with three goals for each of them, while Didier Drogba of Cote d'Ivoire is also on three strikes.
