Ghana will not renew contract of coach Goran Stevanovic – Report
Ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations the Serbian had told Ghanaians that he would call it quits if he did not break their 30-year trophy drought

The Ghana FA will not renew the two-year contract of the Black Stars coach, Goran Stevanovic, which expires next month, according to the GNA.
The news wire of the west African nation quoted reliable sources at the GFA to have said the Serbian will not have a second chance to handle the team.
Plavi, ahead of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations promised to return with the continental trophy or he would resign.
The GNA’s sources said Stevanovic will be allowed to be in charge of Ghana’s international friendly against Chile in March before he leaves his post.
“His contract will not be renewed. But for the international game against Chile, he will have been allowed to leave right after the Africa Cup of Nations,” the Ghana News Agency quoted an official to have said.
The source said apart from Stevanovic's inability to deliver the trophy, there were other issues that made his stay no longer welcome.
It is believed that the coach's ego and the way in which he dealt with Kelvin-Prince Boateng before the latter called time on his international career, as well as certain decisions he took with the inclusion and exclusion of players during the build up to the Afcon had made him unpopular, according to the news wire.
