Arsenal star Gervinho is well aware of the pressure on Cote d'Ivoire ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations final against Zambia on Sunday night.
Cote d'Ivoire went into the tournament as favourites, but they will meet a strong and deserving Chipolopolo in Libreville for the Afcon decider, and the midfielder is keen to be victorious on the night.
"I am very aware of the level of expectations in Ivory Coast for the final," he said to reporters.
"It is the same for my team-mates. Personally, I think that the best gift I could give to my country, Ivory Coast, is the cup."
Fans back in his home country are desperate to see the former Lille star and his side list the Afcon trophy in order to reward the stellar generation of players who have not yet won a trophy on the international stage.
"Our country craves for the trophy of the African Cup of Nations. I am craving for such a trophy in my career."
