Coach Calls For Fans’ Support As AFC Leopards Face Uncertain Future
The community club lies last in the Kenyan Premier League with just two wins...
The newly appointed AFC Leopards
coach, Nick Yakhama, has called upon the fans to double their support
in order to help the club escape relegation.
Speaking to The Standard, Yakhama, who was appointed a fortnight ago, vowed to do his best to assist the team in its pursuit of fitness, form and survival.
“I hate to say this but when you look at how we lost to Bandari FC and Tusker FC, it comes to football basics and schoolboy mistakes. It is within our ability to get results against the 'big three' in the coming matches and haul ourselves out of the pit,” Yakhama said.
“The beauty is that there is a move towards professionalism in the club. Officials are responsible as they are not interfering with the team’s selection neither are the fans. What you see from the fans is a genuine concern for their beloved club, which all of us must understand and work towards correcting.”
Ingwe will play league leaders Sofapaka on Saturday before facing Gor Mahia and the defending champions, Mathare United, in consecutive weekends.
