Former Club Africain coach Abdelhak Ben Chikha revealed his first list of players who will compose the Algerian Olympic team’s roster for their upcoming training camp which will take place from October 4 to October 14 in Marseille.

The trainer has selected a total of 23 players, nine of which are currently plying their trade in Europe.

While speaking to Le Buteur, the trainer indicated that the Algerian Football Federation has been receiving CV’s from all corners of the globe and that due to the high volume of applications, he will definitely be testing more players in the future.

Ben Chikha also took the opportunity to differentiate between the Algerian Olympic team and the Algerian B team, which are both his responsibility.

“As you know I’m in charge of the national B team and the national Olympic team, the first one will soon go into a training camp and will only be composed of local players and that’s how we’ll valorize the players of the [Algieran] championship,” he explained.

“The second will be open to all Algerian without exception. The objective of the B team is the African Nations Championship for local players in Sudan in 2011 and the objective of the Olympic side are the London Olympics in 2012.”
