Kenyan Champions AFC Leopards And Sofapaka To Lock Horns In Newly Introduced Super Cup

The Kenya premier league curtain raiser will pit the league champions and FKL cup winners.

AFC Leopards will tomorrow face Kenya Premier League champions Sofapaka in the newly introduced Super Cup at Nyayo National Stadium.

Besides acting as a curtain raiser for the new season kick-off, the match will also help the teams to test their new recruits ahead a busy campaign that includes two local titles and continental championships, the African Club Championship and Confederation Cup.

The teams have made a host of changes to their squads with Leopards bringing in a new coach Chris Makokha to replace Nick Yakhama. They have also signed new players to bolster their side.

The financially endowed Sofapaka has also added a number of players to their ranks including Mathare United quartet of Edgar "Fighter" Ochieng', Andrew Oyombe, Kevin Ochieng' and John Onami.

The winners will pocket a grand prize of Sh500,000 ($7000).
