Fawzi Chaouchi (Algeria)
Impressive goalkeeper Fawzi Chaouchi has rejected any knowledge of a potential move from current employers ES Setif to Ligue 1 giants Olympique de Marseille in the summer.

The Algerian international has been linked with a move to the Provence club worth around €800,000, but he believes that such stories are simply paper talk.

“No one from Marseille has contacted me and I am not aware of their interest,” he told Le Buteur. “I think this is a rumour, nothing more. That said, wearing the jersey of OM remains a dream for me.”

Les Phoceens are well known for their links with African players, aided by the port city’s position on France’s Mediterranean coast. Already they have the likes of Bakari Kone, Charles Kabore, Stephane Mbia and Taye Taiwo incorporated into their regular first team squad, while young Cameroonian defender Charley Fomen is ready to break through in the coming months.

Didier Deschamps’ club seems well stocked on goalkeepers though. Steve Mandanda continues to do a sound job as the No.1 while back-up Elinton Andrade has not let his coach down when placed between the sticks.
