Lyon Table Bid For Egypt Forward Gedo - Report
Les Gones want Egyptian in League 1 next season…
By Rupert Fryer
Lyon have made an offer for Egypt striker Mohamed ‘Gedo’ Nagy and hope to wrap up the signing of the Pharaohs star in time for the beginning of next season.
Gedo is currently with Egyptian side Al-Ittihad Al-Sakndary but with his current deal set to expire in 2011, it has been reported that he could leave the club for less than €1 million.
“Lyon have contacted us concerning a summer move for Gedo and the offer will be discussed by the board soon,” Ittihad chairman Mohamed Moselhi told FilGoal.com.
The 25-year-old has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs following his sensational form in the African Cup Of Nations, coming off the bench to net five goals and lead his country to a third consecutive African title.
The striker made controversial headlines immediately after the Cup of Nations when he signed a contract extension with his current club while simultaneously putting pen to paper on a transfer to Egyptian giants Zamalek.
