Chelsea Captain John Terry Thanks Fans For Their ‘Incredible’ Support
Blues skipper grateful for support...
By Steve Alexander
Terry was stripped of his England captaincy last Friday after a meeting with Fabio Capello, as a result of his alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-girlfriend of his former Chelsea team-mate Wayne Bridge.
Since then the defender has been roundly booed and jeered by opposition supporters up and down the country.
The 29-year-old has refused to comment on the allegations but broke his silence to speak to the club's TV channel.
"On a personal note I would like to thank every single fan," Terry told Chelsea TV following the Blues 2-0 victory over Arsenal.
"It's been an emotional day for myself and how the fans have been with me for the last few weeks has been quite incredible.
"I didn't expect that today and I would like to thank every single individual fan for the way they treated me."
"It was a great performance and, I mean it from my heart, I would like to thank everyone."
