After putting aside off-the-field problems to help his side to a 1-1 draw away to Tottenham, John Terry is among four Chelsea players to make our XI this week.
Despite partly being at fault for Spurs’ opener, the Blues captain, who received boos from the home crowd throughout the match, redeemed himself by denying Emmanuel Adebayor a certain goal with a crucial block late on.
Solid defensive displays from Paulo Ferreira, Ledley King and Ashley Cole complete a White Hart Lane back line, while Ali Al-Habsi makes his first TOTW appearance of the season for keeping a clean sheet and saving Charlie Adam’s penalty in Wigan Athletic’s goalless draw with Liverpool.
Having played starring roles in Manchester United’s 5-0 win away to Fulham, Antonio Valencia and Nani join West Brom’s matchwinner against Newcastle, Paul Scharner, and Sunderland’s Stephane Sessegnon, who was on target in his side’s victory against QPR, in midfield.
Sergio Aguero is in attack after scoring twice as Manchester City comfortably saw off Stoke 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium, while Daniel Sturridge also makes the cut for netting his 10th goal of the season with the equaliser against Spurs.
Honourable mentions this week go to Richard Dunne, Leighton Baines, Oriol Romeu, Yaya Toure, Marc Albrighton, Gareth Bale, Demba Ba and Heidar Helguson.
