Podolski targets Arsenal title challenge
The 27-year-old Germany international moved to north London after leaving relegated Bundesliga outfit FC Koln and says he is "raring to go" ahead of the new season
Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski says he is is "raring to go" ahead of the new season and hopes to see his new club competing for the Premier League title.The 27-year-old, who counts German giants Bayern Munich amongst his previous clubs, has never played outside of his homeland before domestically, but believes his time at Arsenal will be a success.
"I'm looking at a different championship in England now and I hope that we'll be competing towards the top of the table," Podolski told reporters.

"I've been looking forward to this challenge, the club and the fantastic fans for a couple of weeks no.
"I'm raring to go and get started on July 21st [the club's first friendly against Borehamwood] and I hope that I will have four great and successful years in London."
Podolski has already represented Germany on 101 occasions at international level, and finished last season with 18 goals for FC Koln as they failed to beat the drop.
