Former France boss Raymond Domenech tells Manchester City's Samir Nasri to stop talking and focus on football
The coach repeatedly overlooked the midfielder during his time at the helm of the national side and has now suggested that the player was too outspoken for his tastes

Former France boss Raymond Domenech believes Samir Nasri should stop talking so much and instead focus on his football.
The 59-year-old coach often overlooked the midfielder during his time in charge of Les Bleus and left him out of his squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, much to Nasri's dismay.
However, Domenech believes that Nasri is too quick to complain about perceived injustices in the press and would be better served by focusing his energy on nailing down a regular place in the Manchester City team.
"Samir has talent,” he admitted to RTL. “He needs to stop talking, to get back on the field, to show that he is a great player.”
Domenech also overlooked Karim Benzema for his World Cup squad but he insists that he had no issue with the player other than the fact that the forward was not featuring regularly for Real Madrid at the time.
"This is a player with enormous potential,” the former Paris Saint-Germain boss mused. “I did not take him because he wasn’t playing.
“[But] he is a great player. This is a guy that works. I am convinced that he will break the goal-scoring record for the French team.
“[So] no, I have no regrets for not having called him up, because at that time he was not doing well.”
Domenech led France to the final of the 2006 World Cup, where they were beaten on penalties by Italy, but they were dumped out of Euro 2008 in the pool stages and suffered the same fate in South Africa two years later after a campaign in which the coach was forced to deal with a mutiny among his players.
