| Saint Etienne A-A Lorient |
Saint Etienne's home fixture against FC Lorient was abandoned after just ten minutes due to adverse weather conditions around Stade Geoffrey Guichard rendering the pitch unplayable.
The game, along with those at Dijon and Nancy followed the trend in Serie A and was brought forward from 19.00CET to 15.00CET but referee Benoit Bastien had made the decision after difficulties in play.
According to Ligue1.com, weather conditions meant the game could not be replayed on Sunday, with a later date to be scheduled by the LFP.
| Ajaccio 1-1 Nice |
Ajaccio were denied a record-breaking fifth straight league victory as they were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Nice at Stade Francis Coty.
It wasn't until the 57th minute that the game saw it's opening goal. Kevin Gomis fouled Frederic Sammaritano in the penalty box with new signing Eduardo firing in his third goal in as many games.
With minutes remaining, Esmael Gonçalves snatched a point for les Aiglons as he took advantage of defensive mediocrity to restore parity. That frustrated Olivier Pantaloni's men who were arguably the better side, but were too profligate to enable all three points.
| Montpellier 1-0 Stade Brestois |
Montpellier kept the heat on leaders Paris Saint-Germain with their third straight victory following a slender 1-0 win over Brest.
Geoffrey Dernis grabbed the match winning goal four minutes before the break with a fine finish from Remy Cabella's ball to slot home past Steeve Elana to cap off a rather dominating first half.
Alex Dupont's visitors failed to seriously trouble the Stade de la Mosson club, and were restricted to just six attempts, compared to la Paillade's 23.
Abdelwahid Sissoko saw red on his Ligue 1 debut for Brest, as they ultimately succumbed to yet another winless game on the road.
| Dijon 1-2 Valenciennes |
| Valenciennes recorded their first away game of the season as they narrowly beat promoted side Dijon at Stade Gaston Gerard on Saturday afternoon. Renaud Cohade opened the scoring early on, capitalising on a defensive slip to finish past Baptiste Reynet. Gael Danic notched his fourth goal of the campaign three minutes before half-time after he converted a rebounded shot following Gregory Pujol's unsuccessful attempt. For all their efforts, the hosts were rewarded with a goal, albeit as a consolation. Eric Bautheac's free-kick was ultimately converted in by Gregory Thil as Dijon slumped to just three points clear of safety. |
| Nancy 0-0 Stade Rennes |
|
Stade Rennes' Champions League hopes took a major hit as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Nancy at a bitterly cold Stade Marcel Picot. Neither side could particularly settle themselves in adverse conditions, in a match which was brought forward four hours to escape the sub-zero temperatures encompassing France. Les Rouge et Noir's best effort fell to ex-PSG hitman Mevlut Erding whose bullet header was finely saved by Guy N'Dy Assembe. For all Nancy's enterprising attacking moves, they failed to grab the winning goal, although Daniel Niculae's volley was to be thwarted superbly by Benoit Costil as the game petered out in a 0-0 draw.

| Bordeaux 2-0 Toulouse |
|
Bordeaux secured a convincing 2-0 victory over high-flying Toulouse at Stade Cheban Delmas on Saturday night.. Les Girondins took a superb lead just seconds into the match through Jussie. The Brazilian accelerated towards goal, before firing a powerful effort under Ali Ahamada's crossbar. It was 2-0 five minutes before half-time as Ludovic Obraniak controlled a fine left-footed shot past Ahamada to put clear daylight between the two sides. Alain Casanova's men were dealt a blow when Moussa Sissoko was shown a red card by Stephane Lannoy after picking up two bookings in quick succession as le Tefece failed to gain ground on Olympique de Marseille and Stade Rennes. |
| Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 Evian |
| Match Report |
