| Evian P-P Olympique de Marseille |
Olympique de Marseille's trip to Evian has been postponed due to icy conditions in and around the Annecy area near the French Alps. The game, which had been due to kick off at 19.00CET was initially moved forward to 15.00CET along with the majority of Saturday's games to counter against inclement weather.
However, according to Ligue1.com, officials at the Parc des Sports had deemed the pitch unplayable. The match had been rumoured to be rescheduled the next day, but the LFP has confirmed it will be played at a later date.
This is the second Marseille game in the space of four days which has fallen foul of the weather, with their Coupe de France tie against Bourg-Peronnas replayed next week.
| Auxerre 1-1 Lorient |
Auxerre were denied by a late goal as they remained in the relegation dogfight with a 1-1 draw against 10 man Lorient at Stade de l'Abbe Deschamps.
The hosts went ahead inside 18 minutes when Willy Boly converted Kamel Chafni's corner. Lorient were then dealt a serious blow when goalkeeper Fabien Audard was shown a straight red card when he handled outside the area as Ben Sahar chased a loose ball.
Despite the onslaught received from Auxerre, it would be les Merlus who would be celebrating when a corner two minutes from time was headed in by Innocent Emeghara to leave Christian Gourcuff's men in the top 10.
| Olympique Lyonnais 1-2 Caen |
Olympique Lyonnais prepared for their Champions League knockout clash against Apoel with a shock 2-1 defeat against relegation-threatened Caen at Stade de Gerland.
The visitors' plans were dented when hot prospect Mbaye Niang was forced off with an injury, to be replaced by Livio Nabab. Les Malherbes, unperturbed by that setback took the lead through Romain Hamouma's finish after 13 minutes.
Despite various chances from both sides, substitute Nabab seemingly put the game out of the reach of Remi Garde's men 17 minutes from time with a teasing shot which caught Hugo Lloris unaware.
A nervy finish was ensured when Aurelien Montraoup was adjudged to have pulled the shirt of Alexandre Lacazette, with Lisandro Lopez slamming in the penalty after 86 minutes of play.
It was however, to no avail as Caen registered their first victory at the Gerland, whilst also hurting the hosts' title aspirations
| Montpellier 3-0 Ajaccio |
|
Montpellier swept aside Ajaccio 3-0, thus ending the promoted side's superb seven-game unbeaten run to move to the summit of Ligue 1 at Stade de la Mosson. Younes Belhanda put the hosts in front from the penalty spot after Benjamin Andre's tackle on Henri Bedimo. After the hour mark, la Paillade scored two goals within minutes of each other. First, Olivier Giroud beat his marker and set through Remy Cabella, who notched his side's second. Three minutes later, the favour was reciprocated when an attacking move from the goalkeeper saw Giroud tap-in his 16th league goal of the season to move level with PSG at the top with 49 points. |
| Valenciennes 1-0 Nancy |
|
An injury time goal proved the match-winner as Valenciennes edged Nancy to continue their improving form with a 1-0 victory at Stade du Hainaut. After their shock win over holders Lille in the Coupe de France in midweek, the hosts hit the ground running, testing the opposition with good opportunities. Guy N'Dy Assembe was the busiest of keepers as he attempted to keep out Valenciennes with a number of good saves, whilst Nancy were restricted in their attempts for a goal. However, the goal would come - and in favour of the hosts as Mamadou Samassa capitalised on some questionable defending to beat Assembe with a left-footed effort deep into injury time to seal the win and leave Daniel Sanchez's men seven points clear of the drop. |
| Stade Rennes 1-0 Sochaux |
|
Stade Rennes' Champions League hopes were boosted as they narrowly beat bottom side Sochaux 1-0 at Stade de la Route de Lorient. The game's only goal was scored by ex-PSG forward Mevlut Erding, who prodded home from a Jonathan Pitroipa cross after 16 minutes for his first strike for his new club. Mehmed Bazdarevic's men fought valiantly to restore parity in a tense second half, in which the hosts struggled to hold on to their slender lead. Nevertheless, les Lionceaux's attempts proved futile as they slumped to a ninth game without a win to move from Europa League qualifiers at the beginning of the season to bottom spot. |
| Stade Brestois 1-1 Dijon |
|
Stade Brestois notched their 13th draw of the season when they held Dijon to a 1-1 draw on Saturday. It wasn't until the 76th minute that the game saw its first goal when Chelsea's on-loan winger Gael Kakuta found the net to put the visitors ahead. Issam Jemaa, returning from Africa Cup of Nations duty with Tunisia, was then shown two yellow cards in succession in the 90th minute before Santiago Gentiletti headed home from Bruno Grougi's ball to steal a point for the side in mid-table. |
