Odelín Molina Hernández

| Odelín Molina Hernández – Current Season Statistics | ||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| League | team | Games | Goals | P. Saves | YC | RC |
Age: 36
Position: Goalkeeper
Current Club: FC Villa Clara
International Caps: 74
Overview: Undoubtedly the leader on this relatively young and inexperienced Cuba squad, Molina is far and away the most-capped player on the team and will be called upon to provide strength through the middle for Leones del Caribe.
As vocal as they come, Molina will also need to keep his team compact and organized from his area given how they are widely considered to fall from the tournament in the group stages. If he can keep things together, Cuba may be able to scrape out a result or two.
Career Defining Moment: The 2011 Gold Cup will mark Molina's fifth straight appearance in the tournament for the Cubans, an impressive mark for any player to post.
Strengths: Molina is a master of his area and makes sure opposing attackers know that its his. He also possesses impressive size and uses it to his advantage as he's a physical presence between the sticks.
Weaknesses: Pushing 37, Molina isn't the spring chicken he used to be when he first broke into the Cuban team back in 1996. Not the greatest goalie at the top of his form, his age is really starting to catch up to him and could become a liability against some of the more talented teams in the tournament.
